Overview
Leyland Trade Vinyl Silk is an interior silk emulsion ideal for plaster and embossed walls and ceilings. You can also use it on internal cement rendering, blockwork, brickwork and wallboards. The easy to clean, silk finish is midway between a matt and a gloss. It's low odour, quick drying and resists dirt. Vinyl Silk and Soft Sheen are more suitable than Matt for walls in higher traffic areas, as it's slight sheen is more easily wipeable. Of the two mid sheens, Vinyl Silk and Soft Sheen, the Vinyl Silk has a slightly glossier finish.

Preparation
First make sure that the surface you are painting is sound, clean, dry and free from grease. Remove all loose and defective paint.
- If required, prime with the appropriate Leyland Trade Primer.
- Use a fine, waterproof abrasive paper to sand down any shiny surfaces. If you are dry sanding wear a suitable face mask to avoid inhaling dust.
- If the surface is absorbent or you're applying the Vinyl Silk with a roller or sprayer, you can thin the paint with 9 parts Vinyl Silk to 1 part clean water.
Application
Always perform a test on a small inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility, and we recommend following the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.
- Stir well before use. Do not thin, except if painting and absorbent surface or if applying by roller or spray, when you can add a small amount of water to thin.
- Leyland Trade Vinyl Silk can be applied by brush, roller or spray. Do not overspread the paint, apply evenly by brush or roller and avoid this.
- Apply a second coat after 3-4 hours, if required. Do not apply in temperatures below 10 ̊C.
