Preparation
Ensure that the surface you're painting is sound, clean, dry and grease free and remove all loose and defective paint.
- Prime where required with the appropriate Leyland Primer and rub down glossy surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper to provide a key.
- Avoid the inhalation of dust and wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. If the surface is absorbent, seal with a solution of up to 1 part water to 9 parts Leyland Vinyl Matt.
Application
Always perform a test on a small inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility, and we recommend following the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.
- Stir well before use.
- Don't thin the paint unless you're painting an absorbent surface, or applying it with a roller or spray, in which case a small amount of clean water may be added.
- Apply the Vinyl Matt evenly, being careful not to overspread.
- If necessary, apply a second coat after 2-4 hours. Don't apply in temperatures below 10 ̊C.
